Hay.jpg (68310 bytes)Both the Home Page and this page show the same view eastward from the Sacramento River area of Tehama County toward Mt. Lassen.

Tehama County is down-home rural America, where the fruits, nuts, rattlesnakes, and coyotes are not metaphors. For more information, click on the Tehama County link on the home page.

The background view on the home page is not marijuana (a minor cash crop here as opposed to a major one over in Humboldt County); instead, these are walnut trees laden with ripening nuts. Along with prunes (now called "dried plums") and cattle, walnuts are a major agricultural resource of Tehama County, leading one to say, reminiscent of the impostress aunt from Brazil in Charley's Aunt, that Red Bluff is where the nuts come from (as well as bad grammar).
